About the Author
In the early 1990s, at a party, someone put a tarot deck in Barbara's hands; she's held on tightly ever since. Tarot provides just enough structure so that we don't get lost as we explore the mysteries, plumb our dark corners, and locate our North Stars.
Barbara has been reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She's published a number of books on tarot, including Tarot for Beginners, Tarot Spreads, The Steampunk Tarot, The Gilded Tarot, The Mystic Dreamer Tarot, and Tarot of the Hidden Realm. Writing is solitary work and is relieved by teaching tarot at conferences around the world. Barbara also loves working directly with clients, helping them uncover guidance and insight in the cards.

Where physics and metaphysics meet

Delightful! The illustrations should appeal to steampunk afficionados/-as of all stripes and flavors. I particularly like the "Devil" card represented by a mechanical demon gone horribly rogue in a laboratory. Hey, we've all been there...
And since it's not intuitively obvious by the description, this item comes with booklet AND deck.

WRITTEN REVIEW:
The Steampunk Tarot is one of my favorite tarot acquisitions in a long while. It stretches my tarot muscle in a different way. This deck is so easy for me to read with. It also helped me get over a tarot block I was experiencing.
Before I received this deck, I thought maybe it was going to be just another pretty deck. I thought the images were gorgeous when I viewed them online, but I didn't really see how they could translate in a reading. I was WRONG! This is a very chatty deck that will surprise you!
The companion book by Barbara Moore is one of the best companion books I have read. It is like sitting down with a dear friend and discussing tarot. More than that, it is like sitting down with a tarot expert and having her explain her insight into each card. It is worth reading from cover to cover. The spreads are great and my favorite is the reworked horseshoe spread.
Anyone who is a fan of steampunk, the scifi genre, and who reads intuitively will appreciate this deck. I can see this deck having a wider appeal to many types of tarot readers and querents. Those who appreciate fashion, a sense of adventure, a deck that tells a story ... this deck travels down many roads.
So far my favorite deck of 2012. This is one of those surprise decks that will catch you offguard after you receive it, in its reading ability. You will be very pleased that you chose this one!

Comfort of Steampunk and Tarot

When I first was looking for this deck, I have to say that it was not clear to me if cards came with the deck or not. Second when I viewed this product the description was (Hardcover) which was not and now I see is changed to paperback. I however still purchased this book with hopes it came with the deck too. And I was very relieved that it did! So far this is a great deck and I'm liking the book as well. I do have to comment on the quality of the paper that Llewellyn choose was poor in my opinion. The cards feel a bit flimsy to me (I have had worse) but some of my cards are already show wearing after a few uses. It would have been nice to see a unique box along with this amazing deck. But I am still excited to have this deck in my collection.
I also have to add that I really love the art work and the different twist each Pip card has. They just flow well together along with the few pages I have begun to read of the manual. I'm excited to digg into more!
